Catatonic Torri Hutchinson says she was driving down the freeway near Blackfoot, Idaho, speeding a bit because she was late for her massage therapy class, steering with one hand while putting on lipstick with the other, when she noticed the man next to her was signaling for her to pull over. She did, and the man ran up, pulled her terrified cat from the ski rack on her car’s roof, and handed it to her. She had even stopped for gas after leaving home, 10 miles back, but hadn’t noticed it up there. “She’s always on my car,” Hutchinson admits. And, knowing what people reading the story will think, she told the reporter interviewing her that “I’m not an airhead.” (Pocatello Idaho State Journal) Available in This is True: Book Collection Vol. 11
