It’s a Wrap Just in case there’s some sort of mass casualty incident such as a tsunami or terrorist attack, the Thurston County (Wash.) Coroner’s Office wants to be prepared. To help manage stacks of victims, it has received approval to purchase a giant shrink-wrap machine. Bodies would be put on plywood “cremation trays” and then go through the $50,000 machine on a conveyor belt. Coroner Judy Arnold says the shrink-wrapped bodies would be nicer for her employees or any onlookers, and shrink-wrapping is the “most respectable way” to deal with a large quantity of bodies. “It’s not as disturbing as seeing lumpy body bags.” (Olympia Olympian) Available in This is True: Book Collection Vol. 11
